Never mind... The clips aren't going to work and I have to send them back. If anyone is interested. The rocker molding clips that are for trendsetter side pipes do not work with 4" wide moldings for a Gremlin or a Spirit..

Well now... Looks like these clips aren't going to work either... Ordered some from another vendor which stated that these are supposed to be for Spirit with a 4 inch wide moulding which these are off of. The T.S.M. isn't any help either. All it states is that the 4 inch wide mouldnings use a plastic clip and 4 screws that hold it at the bottom. Hook the top on the plastic clips and then screw the bottom down. Simple enough, but you need to have the proper clips... To me it looks like that they have an extra piece that on them that is way too long. Before I go cutting anything and ruining things anyone have any idea if these are the right clips..??? Are these screwed in to place or...???
Any help would greatly be appreciated before I throw it all in the trash.. |

After some trial, and asking my friend down the road, the light bulb came on and I've got the clips figured out. 5/16" hole and a light tap with a hammer to drive the plastic "rivet" to expand the backside of the clip. I'd feel better with a smaller hole like a 9/32" but they hold tight. |
