Yeah I'd go later than the si series - better cooling, more efficient at lower speeds than the si series, etc.
As far as pulley, we can put almost any pulley on any alternator with a bit of creativity and a lathe, etc. as long as it spins the correct direction.
Now by that I mean the FAN for cooling. Alternators don't care about direction but the cooling fan does.
Even Motorola had two different fans for each model they made - depending on CW or CCW rotation. The alternator was the same, the fans were different. They made versions for aircraft, marine, ag, automotive and outputs well above 100 amps as well.

So I'm reading the wiring diagram and I'm trying to make sure I understand this correctly:

1) Ignition switch in the ignition position supplies power to all ignition parts via yellow wires, including the HEI distributor.
2) Ignition switch in the start position activates the starter relay via dark green wire and the relay then feeds to yellow wires to supply power to the distributor during start mode.
3) When the key is released back to ignition position, power is then restored via ignition and the green wire is "dead", ensuring that the ignition parts always have power between the two modes.

Is this correct?
