Thanks SKeown, I feel I should be okay based on past experience, want to try a camshaft around 284@.050 and.740 108 cl, 290@.050 and .750 110, and hoping for 13:1
had the indy intake on the bench with a set of 270cfm cast heads and the manifold is very good compared with the chevy and ford stuff, flow fell off about 2%.
My boss came across this car and its a project
God Bless Mike

Is it normal to move the pushrod holes to open the intake ports on 401-sr's?

You can sleeve the holes with thin wall brass tubing and cut the pushrod pinch back untill you start to see brass. This works well and keeps the pushrod hole in the factory location.

I don't have the sheet in front of me for my SR heads but going from memory they were around 300cfm at .500,  325 or so at .650.

That was on my first motor that ran a best of 9.50's in my Spirit with 405 cubic inches.

Since then they have been wide ported, the pushrod moved over and use an offset T&D rocker shaft with comp offset roller lifters to straighten the pushrod angle. This increased the port volume considerably...from memory around 260cc or so.... but they are on a 440 inch engine now.
