The Rodeo is just a re badged Isuzu, I had 2 of them when I worked at an engineering company 5 years ago. They are horrible vehicles. I would do 600k's a week on average back in those days and would have to set aside a few hours each week for repairs. A guy who worked with us from Germany moved back there and imported the HZ one tonner he got here into Germany. That would be an interesting vehicle over there!

Interesting story!

I called him on Wednesday and he mentioned that someone was going to look at it at lunch time. Turns out the person who looked at it knew Garry Murphy, and Garry relayed the info to me.

The Javelin is in a bad way, with the amount of rust it has, plus the missing grille and other hard to get parts, it would be an enormous project. Our 'Informant' reckons with all the work it needs, it is only worth $4k

So with all this in mind, I didnt end up looking at it and from what I hear I think I'm gonna give it a miss. Plus I know as soon as I buy it, something better will show up!

Yeah interesting. If you had a good supply of parts and a good panel beater it might be worth a shot.

I have a Rodeo. best car I have ever owned ! on and off road. I have driven Toyotas and Nissans and would prefer my Rodeo any day. I drive over 300 a week in mine and its never let me down. Adelaide Darwin and return it used less than 1/2 a litre of oil. we did nearly 10,000kms in 6 weeks.

I failed to mention that it was a TF '98 model 2wd space cab 2600 with about 800kgs of tools on the back and 450000 clicks on the clock! The scariest breakdown I had was on a 43 degree day down the freeway when the computer died in it and held the injectors open. There was fuel pissing out of the exhaust.
That being said I used to drive a turbo diesel version all over Victoria that never failed me. I borrowed a V6 one for a while and that thing would burn rubber!
