Nope! It's for 73 on up, but the 72 California v8 engines were red.

I forget off the top of my head, the engine pain can number, but I think either Amark or APD carries the color.

There has been soo many discrepancies, when I searched for the thread. Maybe someone like 74MatCoupe can post the proper code.

I have an image of the color, but there seems to be two variances between the color. One metallic the other not. It's a turquoise, but definitely not metallic.

My car didn't come with a drive shaft and the engine and transmission were removed from the car.
I have no way of getting any measurements at the current time.

Can someone give me the measurement for the driveshaft?

The car came with a stock 304 and a Chrysler Torqueflite 727 transmission.

Thanks!

You are talking about a stock 71 javelin right? The 727 did not come until 72.

I have a 71 304 automatic and drive shaft, and can provide measurements or if your going to change over to a 727, then, any 72 on up with a v8 727 combo can provide the drive shaft measurement your requesting.

My 71 came with a Torqueflite 727.

It would be greatly appreciated if someone who has a 304 with a Torqueflite tranny can give me the measurements of their driveshaft.

Thanks,

It's prolly a typo or, the fact that the editor did not know about AMC cars being build in late 71 were ordered for 72 model year. Thus finding engine and trannie combo made in late 71 and available as service replacement parts.

By the way, on a totally different note. There was an allotment of javelins ordered for 71 model year that did not get done until the 72 model year started, which were released as the 72 Javelin for Georgia State Police. No 71 Javelin has been released from the factory as a 71 model with production 72 automatic to the public, and if any were made it was for testing on prototype 71 body.

At least when the tranny was replaced it was done correctly with all of the factory shift levers for the Chrysler Torqueflite.
