We left the shallow end the day we brought Veronica home.
Cost of restoring a rare American Muscle Car: $$$$$ Cost of keeping your teenage son out of trouble and engaged in something for hours at a time that isn't a video game: Priceless!!! |

I took this same photo to the shop where my 69 AMX was painted, which points out 1/4" spacing between the stripes, right? Well the kid who actually shot the paint only had 1/2" tape, so guess what? Yes, I have 1/2" spacing between my stripes. It actually looks really good on the car!

Last year I met the father and son at their home where this car had been recently been taken almost 100% apart.
I was really impressed with several things, one is the car lift in the center garage bay, another is the very cool rotisserie they had the body on. It was a commercial unit with several adjustment points and built really strong, unlike the one my friend Allen and I built for the PM car. I also liked overall the coolness of the project, a very complete car that a father and son team was going to do a complete restoration on!

I would kill for a house with a garage like that with a lift! It looks "operating room" clean in there too. Nice call on the suspension upgrades! And that shot of the paint on the hood? Beautiful is the first word that comes to mind.

! WOW !
What else can I say ? We have 2 Beautiful cars coming online in SoCal, with Mark's Playmate car finishing up this month, being built by Allen, who, bye the way, finished his 68 Red, White, & Blue 2 years ago.... I'm going to have some work to do to be noticed !

For some more pictures and details on the build, I've posted a storybook on Photobucket. I'll be updating this weekly.
